Peru is a country situated in South America and has been one of the preferred destinations among travelers coming to the continent for several years now. The tourism industry has grown considerably and Peru has opened the doors to its natural and cultural riches for the rest of the world. Peru Vacations and Peru travel are now available and offer some of the most incredible destinations to incoming visitors, partly due to its geographical diversity no doubt; Peru has 3 main regions: The Coastal region, the highlands and The Jungle. Each offers something different and each has some great and unique places for you to visit during your Peru vacations.
The coast is on the shores of the vast Pacific ocean, within Lima are small districts that make up the capital; some of these right next to the Pacific such as Miraflores and Barranco. Both these districts are teaming with hotels and the more affordable hostels where you can stay and enjoy the Lima nightlife as well as the many art galleries and restaurants available in the area. Outside of Lima you have places like Ica; where you can go sand surfing or ride dune buggies on of course, the giant sand dunes which are situated in this area. Further south lies Paracas and the Paracas national reserve where you can take a boat tour and visit the local sea lion community which live in the Ballestas Islands. If you wish to take a small detour (and it is recommended) and visit Pisco which is still in the process of rebuilding from the big 2007 earthquake; this is the birthplace of the special brandy known by the same name as the town "Pisco". There are several Pisco producing plants in the area where you can tour and taste the different varieties. From this point you can then head over to Nazca and fly over "The Nazca Lines", during this part of your Peru vacation. These mysterious set of giant : Humanoid, plant and animal shaped lines which cover the area have unknown origins and their use is also shrouded in mystery.
