If you want to try something different and special on your next vacation you should think “travel to Peru”. It is a country with a vast diversity in is geography allowing it to have 3 distinct regions; Coastal, The highlands and the jungle/Amazon rainforest region. Each of these different locations offers something completely different when you travel to Peru, it will be a unique experience in each region without a doubt.
The Amazon region is somewhere you should definitely go to when you travel to Peru, making it part of you Peru vacations is a no brainer. Take an Amazon River boat cruise and travel through the dense Amazon in style. The wildlife here is unique and some fauna is on the endangered species list making it rare and difficult to find; imagine being able to photograph these rare birds, monkeys, lizards, caiman and many more. If you are into bird watching this is literally a paradise and if you decide on taking a canopy walk (right you tour the tree tops on bridges that extend from trees) you will be at eye level with monkeys and birds not to mention that you will get an incredible view of the Amazon.
Check out the highlands in Peru, Puno for example shelters the amazing Lake Titicaca where you can navigate unto the man made uros islands and visit the natives. It is very interesting to watch how everyday activities are done while living on a moving straw island, several families occupying each one. Cusco is also located in the highlands, in the Andes region. From Cusco you will have the chance to venture to trails such as the Inca trail, the salkantay and lares trek to name a few. The lost Inca city of Machu Picchu is also located in this area and is one of the biggest attractions in South America thanks to it being named a world wonder, when you travel to Peru this might be the most inspirational part of the journey according to most tourists.
