DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN CUSCO/PM. CITY TOUR + NEARBY RUINS
In the morning, upon your arrival to Cusco we will be waiting for you at the airport, then we will take you to the hotel where you can relax and have a leisure morning to get acclimatized to the high altitude.
At 1.30 pm we will pick you up from your Hotel where you will start your tour around Cusco and the outskirts of the City. You will be shown the exact centre of the Inca Empire, the Plaza de Armas. There you can find the cathedral built on the ruins of the Inca Palace. The cathedral borders with other churches on both sides. Next stop will be the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings, which are being used as hotels for example.
You will also visit Sacsayhuaman; a ruin located approx. 3 km above Cuzco.
Sacsayhuaman also offers a fabulous view of the city. After that you will shortly stop in Tampu Machay, the bath of the Inca; Kenko, the giant rock whose niches and gaps were carved in a strange way, and Puca Pucara, the ruin of a small fort.
At night you will return to Cuzco where you can relax, enjoy the local food and exciting nightlife.

DAY 2 - FULL DAY SACRED VALLEY EXCURSION
Buffet breakfast.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco by our local representative. Afterwards we will take you down a road that winds over the mountains north of Cusco. On the way we will stop at a point known as El Mirador, from where we will be able to see the whole Sacred Valley and receive a good insight of the Inca history.
Later on, we will drive towards Pisac, where there is a peculiar market that deserves to be visited. There, you will have the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of fine crafts of various kinds: Woven goods, sweaters, etc. You will have free time to walk around and do some shopping. Afterwards you will go for lunch in a nice local restaurant to enjoy a good Andean food.
After a delicious buffet lunch you will continue your tour. You will drive along the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo. Once you get there you will visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo, an important Incan construction built during the Inca's heydays.
On the way you will also stop at Chincheros, a traditional local town known as ‘the birthplace of the rainbow’, and it has the full complement of photogenic attractions: Incan ruins, Andean village houses, an elaborate colonial church built on Incan foundations, and of course the lively weekly market.
In the afternoon you will return to Cuzco to enjoy the magical landscape of this wonderful city.

DAY 3 - : CUSCO TO MACHU PICCHU (EXPEDITION TRAIN)

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you by bus to the train station where the tour starts. The Expedition train climbs the mountain in zigzag slopes and then rattles down into the fertile plain of the Urubamba valley, passes Ollantaytambo and goes on to Aguas Calientes. From here small busses drive up the steep mountain to the ruin town Machu Picchu called the Lost City of the Incas.
Upon your arrival to Machu Picchu you will enjoy a 3 hours tour.
Machu Picchu is a magical, mysterious place that for nearly a century has intrigued archaeologists and visitors alike. Perched atop a steep, emerald green peak 8,000 feet high in the Andes in southern Peru, it is reachable only by a long road that zigzags up the slope from the roaring Urubamba river, or by hiking four days along the challenging Inca Trail
.
Visitors to Machu Picchu see well-preserved ruins hidden among the majestic Andes; palaces, baths, temples, tombs, sundials and farming terraces, along with llamas that roam among hundreds of gray granite houses.
In the afternoon you will transfer back to Aguas Calientes to stay overnight there, this will allow you to go back to Machu Picchu very early the next day and enjoy the wonderful sunrise.
A gourmet dinner is included (only for 4 and 5 star hotels) in Aguas Calientes.

DAY 4 - SUNRISE IN MACHU PICCHU & HUAYNA PICCHU TRAIL

Today you will have a second visit to the Machu Picchu Citadel, it is recommended that you wake up very early to watch the magical sunrise described as a once in a lifetime experience. The first bus departs at 5:30 in the morning; you will watch the clouds give way to the sun as it rises. Then you will start your hike to Huayna Picchu at 7:00 am or 10:00 am. You will go hiking up to Huayna Picchu; this is the pyramid-shaped peak that overlooks Machu Picchu.
Nestled on the mountain side as you hike up is the ruins of the Temple of the Moon. You will pass through caves as you hike up the mountain and see the amazing view at every corner. Huayna Picchu is far less traveled than Machu Picchu, and can be slippery when it rains. The rain comes down usually in December and January. Iron bars and platforms have been constructed over the years making your journey along the trail safe as you hike up.
Huayna Picchu is 1200 feet above Machu Picchu and it usually takes between 45 to 90 minutes to hike all the way up to the top, and there are plenty of places along the way to rest.
After your tour, you will be transferred by the Expedition Train back to Cusco, where you can rest in your comfortable hotel

DAY 5 - CUSCO DEPARTURE
Buffet breakfast
In the morning we will transfer you to the airport to take your local flight back to Lima.
Upon your arrival to Lima, you will take your international flight back home; we are wishing that your stay in Cusco and Machu Picchu was amazing.
