Day 1Arrival in Cusco and Cusco City Tour

Upon your arrival to Cusco city, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your selected hotel.

In the afternoon, one of our local guides will take you on a half day tour of the city of Cusco. You will be shown the exact center of the Inca Empire, the Plaza de Armas. There one can find the Cathedral built on the ruins of the Inca Palace. Next stop will be the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings. Also in Cusco, we will visit Qorikancha, the Main Temple of the Incas, where Sun God is worshiped.

After, we will visit Sacsayhuaman, a ruins site located approximately 3 kilometers from Cusco. Sacsayhuaman also offers a fabulous view of the entire city. After that, the tour will stop shortly in Tambomachay, the bath of the Inca; Kenko, the giant rock whose niches and gaps were carved in an eccentric way; and Puca Pucara, the ruins of a fort.

Return to Cusco where you can relax, enjoy the local food and exciting nightlife.

Day 2Sacred Valley Tour

After your breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco by our representative. You will be taken along a road that winds over the mountains north of Cusco. On the way you will stop at a point known as El Mirador, from where we will be able to see the whole of the Sacred Valley and listen to the history of the Incas.

Later in the day, you will go towards Pisac, where we will visit the Pisac Archaeological Park. Here there are many different buildings, plazas, temples, pools and other structures, all built between the 10th and 11th centuries AD. After we will visit a peculiar market in Pisac. Here, you will have the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of fine crafts of various kinds, for example, ponchos, blankets, vases, hats and much more. You will have free time to walk around and do some shopping. Afterwards you will be taken to have lunch in a nice local restaurant to enjoy some great Andean food.

After lunch you will continue the tour and be driven along the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo. Here you will visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo, an important Inca construction built during the Inca’s most powerful times.

After the tour you will take the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes (Optional upgrade: Vistadome or Hiram Bingham train).

On arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3Machu Picchu Tour

After breakfast, you will take one of the buses up the steep mountain to the famous town of Machu Picchu, also known as, the Lost City of the Incas.

You will be taken on an official tour of Machu Picchu to see the most important parts of the Inca city. (Optional: hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. This will allow you to have more time in Machu Picchu).

Machu Picchu is a magical, mysterious place that for nearly a century has intrigued archaeologists and visitors alike. Perched atop a steep, emerald green peak 8,000 feet high in the Andes in southern Peru, it is reachable only by a long road that zigzags up the slope from the roaring Urubamba river, or alternatively, by hiking for days along the challenging Inca Trail. Visitors to Machu Picchu will see well-preserved ruins hidden among the majestic Andes: palaces, baths, temples, tombs, sundials and farming terraces, along with llamas that roam among hundreds of gray granite houses.

Lunch is included in Aguas Calientes (Optional upgrade: lunch in the luxury Belmond Sanctuary Lodge located just outside of Machu Picchu).

In the late afternoon, you will return to Cusco on the Expedition train. On arrival to Cusco, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4Flight Cusco to Quito

Today you will be transferred to Cusco airport to take your flight to Quito via Lima.

On arrival to Quito, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel where you can spend the evening at your own leisure.

Day 5Quito Colonial City and Middle of the World Tour (Private tour)

You will be picked up from your hotel where you will start the Colonial City Tour. Quito is the largest historical old town in the Americas and is full of beautiful architecture, churches and cobbled streets.

After you will be taken to the “middle of the world” where the northern and southern hemispheres meet. Here there is a monument and museum that you can visit. The monument was built to commemorate the scientists who calculated the position of the middle of the world to within a few hundred feet.

After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 64 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 1

In the morning, you will be transferred to Quito airport to take your flight to Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. You will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the pier to board your ship to start your Galapagos tour.

AFTERNOON: Bartolome Island

This afternoon you will be able to see one of the most incredible views in the whole of the Galapagos Islands and is compared to a lunar landscape. It is one of the most visited sites in the Galapagos. The climb up the 372 wooden steps is well worth the effort to see the magnificent view from the top overlooking the famous Pinnacle Rock and Santiago Island.

We will also be able to snorkel in the waters where we may encounter sea lions, penguins and white-tipped reef sharks.

Day 74 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 2

MORNING: South Plaza Islet

Here you will have the opportunity to see land iguanas, sea lions and swallow-tailed gulls. When we get to the edge of the cliff, we will spend some time watching birds such as, frigatebirds, red-billed tropicbirds and Galapagos Shearwaters.

AFTERNOON: North Seymour Island

This afternoon we will go to this important island for many Marine birds including the great frigatebird, which if we are lucky, you can see the males courting with the females by clapping their bills, clicking, flapping their wings and showing their very large red gular pouch.

We may also see the mating dance of the Blue Footed Boobies, which is a great highlight of this tour. Along the waters of the island are Tiger Sharks, Reef Sharks, Galapagos Sharks and Sea Lions.

Day 84 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 3

MORNING: San Cristobal Island – Pitt Point and Islet

We will arrive to the beach of the island where Sea Lions will greet us. This walk is demanding as we will climb a steep volcanic cone.

This is the only island where we can see all three booby bird species in the same area (Red-Foot Booby, Nazca Booby and the Blue-Foot Booby) and one of only two places where the Red-Footed Booby can be seen in a nesting colony. Here you can see an amazing red landscape due to the large amounts of Sesuvium plant.

Duration: approx. 2.5 hours walking / 40 minutes snorkeling or kayaking
Terrain: uneven and rocky

AFTERNOON: San Cristobal Island – Cerro Brujo

To reach the shore, we will go by small boat from the ship. On the way you will witness the magnificent cliffs of Sorcerer’s Hill.

You can either snorkel with the Sea Lions or go for a walk to a hidden lagoon where you may see whimbrels, ruddy turnstones, spot black-necked stilts and white-cheeked pintails.

Duration: approx. 1 hour walking / 1 hour snorkeling
Terrain: uneven and rocky

Day 94 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 4

San Cristobal Island – Cerro Colorado Tortoise Reserve

Today, you will visit the giant tortoise breeding center ìLa Galapagueraî. Here you will be able to see the life stages of the most famous creature of the Galapagos Islands. The prime focus of the center is to protect and restore the population of the San Cristobal Tortoise.

You will have a chance to buy some last minute souvenirs and local handicrafts in town before you are transferred to San Cristobal airport to take your flight back to Quito.

Duration: approx. 40 minute bus drive to the Tortoise Reserve / 1 hour visit

Day 10Departure

You will be transferred from your hotel to the airport to take your flight back home from your incredible journey.
