Day 1Arrival in Cusco and Cusco City Tour

Upon your arrival to Cusco city, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your selected hotel.

In the afternoon, one of our local guides will take you on a half day tour of the city of Cusco. You will be shown the exact center of the Inca Empire, the Plaza de Armas. There one can find the Cathedral built on the ruins of the Inca Palace. Next stop will be the old town with its magnificent renovated colonial buildings. Also in Cusco, we will visit Qorikancha, the Main Temple of the Incas, where Sun God is worshiped.

After, we will visit Sacsayhuaman, a ruins site located approximately 3 kilometers from Cusco. Sacsayhuaman also offers a fabulous view of the entire city. After that, the tour will stop shortly in Tambomachay, the bath of the Inca; Kenko, the giant rock whose niches and gaps were carved in an eccentric way; and Puca Pucara, the ruins of a fort.

Return to Cusco where you can relax, enjoy the local food and exciting nightlife.

Day 2Sacred Valley Tour

After your breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco by our representative. You will be taken along a road that winds over the mountains north of Cusco. On the way you will stop at a point known as El Mirador, from where we will be able to see the whole of the Sacred Valley and listen to the history of the Incas.

Later in the day, you will go towards Pisac, where we will visit the Pisac Archaeological Park. Here there are many different buildings, plazas, temples, pools and other structures, all built between the 10th and 11th centuries AD. After we will visit a peculiar market in Pisac. Here, you will have the opportunity to purchase a wide variety of fine crafts of various kinds, for example, ponchos, blankets, vases, hats and much more. You will have free time to walk around and do some shopping. Afterwards you will be taken to have lunch in a nice local restaurant to enjoy some great Andean food.

After lunch you will continue the tour and be driven along the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo. Here you will visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo, an important Inca construction built during the Inca’s most powerful times.

After the tour you will take the Expedition train to Aguas Calientes (Optional upgrade: Vistadome or Hiram Bingham train).

On arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 3Machu Picchu Tour

After breakfast, you will take one of the buses up the steep mountain to the famous town of Machu Picchu, also known as, the Lost City of the Incas.

You will be taken on an official tour of Machu Picchu to see the most important parts of the Inca city. (Optional: hike up Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. This will allow you to have more time in Machu Picchu).

Machu Picchu is a magical, mysterious place that for nearly a century has intrigued archaeologists and visitors alike. Perched atop a steep, emerald green peak 8,000 feet high in the Andes in southern Peru, it is reachable only by a long road that zigzags up the slope from the roaring Urubamba river, or alternatively, by hiking for days along the challenging Inca Trail. Visitors to Machu Picchu will see well-preserved ruins hidden among the majestic Andes: palaces, baths, temples, tombs, sundials and farming terraces, along with llamas that roam among hundreds of gray granite houses.

Lunch is included in Aguas Calientes (Optional upgrade: lunch in the luxury Belmond Sanctuary Lodge located just outside of Machu Picchu).

In the late afternoon, you will return to Cusco on the Expedition train. On arrival to Cusco, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4Flight Cusco to Guayaquil

Today you will be transferred to Cusco airport to take your flight to Guayaquil via Lima.

On arrival to Guayaquil, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel where you can spend the evening at your own leisure.

Day 5Guayaquil City Tour and Historic Park (Private tour)

The Guayaquil City tour starts with a drive by Centenario Park, which is devoted to the freedom of the old city from the Spanish conquerors. You will see the important historical parts of the city, such as the Rotonda monument, which is dedicated to the leaders of the South American independence; San Martin and Bolivar. Also, you will see the Las Peñas Barrio, which is the only colonial district left in the city. Here there are great views of the city and the river Guayas.

Along the river Guayas is the historic park where there is a museum, a monument to commemorate Guayaquil’s independence and a variety of flora and animals like monkeys, flamingoes and parrots.

After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 64 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 1

In the morning, you will be transferred to Guayaquil airport to take your flight to Baltra in the Galapagos Islands. You will be picked up at the airport and transferred to the pier to board your ship to start your Galapagos tour.

AFTERNOON: Santa Cruz Island – Charles Darwin Research Station & Fausto Llerena Breeding Center

Santa Cruz Island is home to very large tortoises that freely walk in the private and National Park lands. There are also huge lava tunnels under the ground, some of which are several kilometers long. Along with the lava tunnels comes the history of pirates and treasure.

The center is located in a great place to see some of Darwin’s finches, like the cactus, vegetarian and woodpecker.

Day 74 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 2

MORNING: Santa Cruz Island – Dragon Hill

After arriving into the small lava dock, we will be able to see the marine iguanas that are camouflaged with the rocks. We will walk along the island to a beach where you will be able to see Dragon Hill.

On the way you will see a variety of flora and fauna. You may see waders such as flamingos, turnstones, stilts and sandpipers feeding in the mud. Other birds like mockingbirds, Darwin finches, yellow warblers and Galapagos doves can be spotted.

Duration: approx. 2 hours walking
Type of terrain: rocky and uneven

AFTERNOON: Bartolome Island

This afternoon you will be able to see one of the most incredible views in the whole of the Galapagos Islands and is compared to a lunar landscape. It is one of the most visited sites in the Galapagos. The climb up the 372 wooden steps is well worth the effort to see the magnificent view from the top overlooking the famous Pinnacle Rock and Santiago Island.

We will also be able to snorkel in the waters where we may encounter sea lions, penguins and white-tipped reef sharks.

Day 84 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 3

MORNING: Rabida Island

Rabida Island is located in the heart of the Galapagos Islands and is well known for its red beaches. There are hundreds of Sea Lions and a nested colony of Pelicans. There are also Galapagos doves, finches, vermillion flycatchers and mockingbirds.

We will walk through the palo santo forest where we can see cacti and other flora. Eventually we will reach a bay where you can snorkel and see turtles, sea lions, white tipped sharks and schools of black striped salemas.

Duration: 1.5 hour walking / 1 hour snorkeling / 1 hour dinghy ride

AFTERNOON: Santiago Island – Bucaneers Cove / Espumilla Beach

Santiago Island is the 4th biggest island in the Galapagos and as the largest and longest lava flow.

Here is where Charles Darwin spend the longest of all the islands. You will see Bucaneers Cove where Charles spent 9 days camping. In the area are pelicans, herons, boobies, brown noddies, sea lions and fur seals.

Espumilla Beach (meaning Foam Beach in English), is home to wading birds such as flamingos and common stilts. In the dunes there are normally sea turtles nesting.

Day 94 Day Galapagos Islands Cruise - Day 4

Santa Cruz Island – Black Turtle Cove

Black Turtle Cove is located on the north shore of Santa Cruz Island. Here we will see 4 varieties of mangrove in a tidal lagoon system. From inside the boat we will see turtles swimming around, with rays and small sharks below us. The experience is like going back to the beginning of time seeing these species together.

After you disembark, you will be transferred to your hotel in Guayaquil where you can spend the rest of the evening at your own leisure.
