U2 Singer Bono visits Peru and Machu Picchu

The Lead singer of the popular band U2 Bono also known as Paul David Hewson arrived in Lima, Peru last Thursday night and is apparently staying in the country for about a week, where he is going to visit Cusco and the world wonder of Machu Picchu.  Bono and his family were staying at the luxurious Miraflores Park hotel in the Miraflores district of Lima before finally leaving for the airport in order to reach the highland city of Cusco.

Bono Left the Peruvian capital early Friday morning to head over to the airport and catch a flight to the city of Cusco.  Here Bono will take tours of the city, visit the sacred valley and ultimately go to the once lost city of the Inca Machu Picchu, one of the world wonders.

Bono was expected to reach Cusco at 1pm on Saturday afternoon; he will stay at the Hotel Monasterio and will rest for the rest of the afternoon in order to resume his tourist activities a little later.

At 9 am Bono and the rest of his party went to Ollantaytambo on the luxurious Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu. He will stay at the exclusive Machu Picchu Sanctuary lodge in order to tour Machu Picchu. It is also known that Bono has reservation to visit Huayna Picchu, one of the peaks surrounding the Inca city of Machu Picchu.

Despite having the curious and the fans surrounding him during his tour of the Inca city Bono rather enjoyed the visit. Everyone around him said he was a very friendly person and even went on to take pictures and share stories with whoever asked him.
